Alumni Spotlight: Mohamed Sirelkhatim
What are you doing now?
I am heading the operations and development of a $250 million dollar project that is centered around creating a videogame hub in the Middle East. The project is to be determined next month. Its name is Virtuocity.
How long did it take you to find your first job? Where was it?
Two months. Doha Film Institute. I was setting up and managing a public exhibition on video games and anime (both are my passions).
Looking back, what were some of your “takeaways” from your GU-Q experience?
GU-Q really teaches us how to ask the right questions, think on our feet, adapt to any environment and, most importantly, GU-Q puts us on a level above everyone else in terms of communicating our ideas.
What advice would you give to current undergraduates who may want to follow in your footsteps?
Do not belittle any experience or opportunity, everything can be seen as a good learning experience. Work hard and long while you can and the rewards will come.
What are some of your proudest achievements so far? Future plans?
Getting a job that aligns to my passions and building something towards that passion. For the future, anything is possible at this point.
