Ilias Bantekas
Adjunct Professor
Ilias Bantekas is Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University in Qatar. He received his law degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and is Professor of International Law and Arbitration at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. He frequently serves as arbitrator in international commercial disputes and has advised governments and international organizations, including the UNDP, U.N. Special Procedures, Council of Europe, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, and the European Union. In 2011, he was nominated by the UNDP to co‑author the constitution of South Sudan, and in 2015, he was a senior member of the Greek Parliament’s Truth Committee on Public Debt.
