What is the total cost?

We will be covering the travel, accommodation for international participants. Local transportation and meals will be provided for all participants. The participants are solely responsible for selecting and purchasing their own travel/medical insurance.

What is the application procedure?

Interested applicants should submit their paper, a brief biography, and high resolution professional photo to sf.......[at]georgetown.edu. Papers will be assessed based on research quality and relevance to the conference theme. Exemplary research papers will be included in the inaugural edition of the MESSA academic journal. The application deadline is Friday, January 10, 2014.

What form should submitted papers take?

All research papers must be written in English. Papers should be approximately 10-15 pages in length, excluding bibliography, double-spaced and formatted with 12-point Times New Roman font. Chicago citation style is strongly preferred.

What if I’m not done with my research?

Complete papers are preferred; however, incomplete papers that are accompanied by a clear abstract, methodology, and bibliography will also merit consideration. All accepted papers will be expected to be submitted in their final form by February 21, 2014.

Should I do anything after submitting my application?

The receipt of your application will be confirmed within 24 hours.

What if I wrote my paper as a co-author?

You are welcome to submit any paper you have written as a co-author. Please keep in mind, however, that funding will be disbursed on a per-paper basis.

What is the schedule for the conference?

The 2014 Conference schedule will be release in early 2014 here.

What is the dress code?

The Conference will feature both formal and semi-formal events; please prepared for business and business casual. Check the conference schedule, upon release, for further information.

How should I prepare my presentation?

Presentations should be devised in PowerPoint format. Should you require particular media, technology or materials please inform us at least one week prior to the conference. Please email us a copy of your presentation and any files, such as handouts, you will be using one day prior to your presentation.
