Do I have to be an undergraduate student to participate in this conference?

Yes, you have to be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student.

What is the application procedure?

Interested applicants should submit their paper to guqaurc@georgetown.edu. Papers will be assessed based on research quality and relevance to the conference theme.

Do I have to submit a full paper or may I submit an abstract?

You must submit a full paper by the deadline for you application to be considered complete.

Do I have to submit an original paper?

You may submit a paper previously written for one of your courses.

What if I’m not done with my research?

Only complete papers will be considered.

What form should submitted papers take?

All research papers must be written in English. Papers should be approximately 10-15 pages in length, excluding bibliography, double-spaced and formatted with 12-point Times New Roman font. Chicago citation style is strongly preferred.

Should I do anything after submitting my application?

The receipt of your application will be confirmed within 24 hours.

What if I wrote my paper as a co-author?

You are welcome to submit any paper you have written as a co-author. Please keep in mind, however, that funding will be disbursed on a per-paper basis.

How should I prepare my presentation?

Presentations should be devised in PowerPoint format. Should you require particular media, technology or materials please inform us at least one week prior to the conference. Please email us a copy of your presentation and any files, such as handouts, you will be using one day prior to your presentation.
