Biography
Hey there! I’m Farasha Abdul Jaleel, your friendly neighborhood economics enthusiast at Georgetown University Qatar. Since 2018, I’ve been helping students unravel the mysteries of economics through weekly recitations and office hours, making sure those supply and demand curves make sense!
My academic foundation was built at Qatar University, where I earned dual degrees – a bachelor’s in accounting and economics, followed by a master’s in accounting. During my time there, I gained valuable experience as a research assistant, which helped shape my current research interests in environmental accounting, economics and entrepreneurship education.
My teaching philosophy centers on empowering students to go beyond mere knowledge acquisition. I believe education should cultivate critical thinking, practical application, and more importantly, personal growth. When they don their graduation robes, they should emerge not just as more knowledgeable individuals, but as better versions of themselves – more empathetic in their interactions, kinder in their approach, and more accepting of diverse perspectives. True education, after all, should transform both the intellect and the heart.
When I’m not in the lecture rooms, you’ll probably find me exploring random corners of the Peninsula diving into volunteering projects, or surrounded by colorful LEGO bricks. After all, whether we’re building with bricks or building knowledge, it’s all about creating something meaningful, one piece at a time.
