CJ (Caleb) Pine
Adjunct Professor
CJ Pine brings over a decade of experience in diplomacy and research. He worked as a civil servant and Political Advisor at the United States Mission to the United Nations (2020-2025) and previously at the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations at the U.S. Department of State.
At the U.S. Mission to the UN, he was the focal point for counterterrorism, peacebuilding, and some sanctions files. He negotiated the mandate of the UN Panel of Experts for Sudan, the joint communique of the UN Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council, and the Global Counterterrorism Strategy review.
He has written articles on international responses to atrocities in Sudan, negotiations of sanctions related to Yemen, and the impact of the UN’s counterterrorism architecture. He received his Master’s of Public Administration from New York University and his Bachelor of Arts in Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame. He speaks Mandarin Chinese.
