Black History Month Book Reading

A U.S. Embassy and Georgetown University in Qatar Collaboration.

Each February, the United States celebrates Black History Month by honoring the history, culture, and achievements of Black Americans. This Black History Month, celebrate diversity and inclusion in literacy with the U.S. Embassy in Qatar. We’ll honor the lives and contributions of Black American authors with book readings every Wednesday at various locations in Qatar.

Join us for an excerpt reading of The Autobiography of Martin Luther King Jr. on February 15 at Georgetown University in Qatar. Written in his own words, this history-making autobiography is Martin Luther King: the mild-mannered, inquisitive child and student who chafed under and eventually rebelled against segregation; the loving husband and father who sought to balance his family's needs with those of a growing, nationwide movement; and the reflective, world-famous leader who was fired by a vision of equality for people everywhere.

Location of the event: The Library at Georgetown University in Qatar (Ground Floor).
