Hartley Miller
Adjunct Lecturer
Hartley R. Miller joins the GU-Q faculty as an Adjunct Lecturer in French for 2025-26. With a BA in French from Wellesley College and doctoral-level coursework in French completed at Princeton University, Hartley has nearly 20 years of experience as an educator and scholar of French and Francophone literature, language, and culture. In 2023, she earned her Certificate in French to English Translation from the American Translators’ Association and is an active professional translator. Hartley also holds an MA in Medieval English Literatures from the University of York, with a dissertation on medieval translations of the Tristan legend into European vernaculars. Her current research examines the transformative effect of digital technologies on medieval manuscript editing, with a forthcoming article on the potential multiplication of editorial outputs thanks to AI-assisted transcription.
