The Distribution and Economic Implications of Health Outcomes in Qatar

This research project has two interrelated objectives. The first objective is to examine health outcomes in Qatar, along with the associated expenditures and utilization of health care services. The second goal is to develop a simple model of health-insurance pricing; and to use the evidence on health outcomes, expenditures and utilization to evaluate the economic impacts of the proposed employer-provided insurance. Qatar aims to achieve its goals by partnering with the private sector in bearing the costs of health care.
