Spend the summer studying in Washington, DC, or engaging with DC peers and faculty through special courses and research opportunities.

Greece Summer Symposium

Through a partnership with Earth Commons, students can take the Greece Summer Symposium to study environmental sustainability. Register for the course through the course catalogue.

Summer Research Opportunities

Georgetown offers several grants for summer study and year-long mentorship with DC faculty. Apply through the relevant DC campus website, or talk to the Office of Student Research.

Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellowship

This prestigious summer-long fellowship includes dedicated funding and professional mentorship to support student projects in journalism. Taha Kaleem studied Peacebuilding in Kashmir, and Elene Chkhaidze wrote about the Cyprus Conflict.

Berkley Center Fellowships

The Berkely Center offers several fellowships to study religion, peacebuilding, and education. Students have recieved grants to study Education and Social Justice in the Philippines, Belize, and Bosnia, and an Andretta Fellowship to study civic engagement in Pakistan.

University Break Trips

During university breaks, students have the opportunity to travel to each other’s campuses to participate in sports competitions, debates, or cultural exchanges. These trips are arranged through the Office of Student Affairs.

Cricket Competition

The DC cricket team came to Doha for a friendly match in 2024. “It was awesome to bring both teams together and to have dinner and bond between the two campuses,” said Matthew Turner, DC Cricket Team member.

DC-Doha Dialogue

Students spend one week each semester hosting their counterparts and exploring a theme. “It felt like being part of a family—as we call it, ‘the DDD Crew,’” said Areesha Fatima, Class of 2025.

Arabic Debate

DC students participated in the Qatar National Arabic Debate competition with their Doha peers. “It felt as though we were competing as one university,” said DC campus student Shady Makhlouf, Class of 2025.
